Travelling The World On A Budget

One of my New Years resolutions this year was to travel loads, I had trips planned in my mind to Greece, Switzerland, Rome, London and Bali (read about it here), one of them I actually already accomplished in real life! If it was up to me, I’d travel to a different place at least once each month, but obviously I don’t own a cash cow, so it’s really important for me to keep my budget in control. Therefore, in the meantime I’ve become very good at going places on a budget, so I thought I’d share some tips and tricks I’ve learned on the way!

The Weekend According to My iPhone

Oh dear, my weekend  was so busy, filled with fun events and hard work! It started off with 15 people examining my apartment on friday – keep in mind that I only live on 30m²- who were interested in renting it when I move out myself, which will be fairly soon!

On Saturday, I had the pleasure to take part at the lovely Blogger Breakfast at the Heimathafen café in Wiesbaden and met a lot of nice fellow bloggers from the Rhein-Main area, which was nice as being a blogger in the suburbs can be a little bit lonely at times. I was especially happy to finally meet Nina from Mainzer Wohnzimmer in person, who I’ve been following for quite some time now – go check her out! Also, a huge thank you goes out to Giovanno from Stadtblogozin for organizing and Feine Billetterie and Senseo for sponsoring this great event!

Lovely people of the internet,

a couple of days ago, I checked out Nassau Burger in Wiesbaden, Germany. As I’ve heard mixed reviews about this newly opened burger place, I needed to make a taste test myself. Naturally, I took my best guy friend, as we like to call ourselves the burger connoisseurs.

Look the Part to Get the Role: Buying Sports Clothing

IMG_6418

Lovely people of the internet,

so here I am auditioning for the role of an athlete. I had this plan for quite a while now in my head, even subscribed to fitness gurus on Youtube, but successfully put it off for as long as possible. So long until my friend gave me a yoga mat for my birthday. Well, actually, I postponed it again, because my birthday was more than a month ago… I quit my gym membership in November after being a member for 1.5 years and actively training for probably 7 days (well worth it… :-/ ) . Today I thought I had to get my butt in gear, literally, and buy myself some stylish fitness attire to trick my mind into thinking that I WANT to do sports.  (more…)

Hey Good Lookin’, What’s Cookin’: Fresh Salmon with a Lemon, Tomato and Onion Marinade

IMG_6314

Lovely people of the internet,

today I want to tell you about my recent discovery on my way to eat healthier. I’ve never been a huge fan of fish, I do like my occasional sushi (either fried Inside Out ones or really simple Makis), but otherwise I’m not much of a fish-lover. However, as I wanted to change my diet a bit to the healthier side, I grabbed the salmon at the counter and mixed it with stuff I still had at home. Well, I gotta say that it was quiet a tasty affair.

2015/01/img_59101.jpg
Lovely people of the internet,

last week I had the pleasure to eat at one of  Wiesbaden’s two new burger venues. das! Burger is said to be THE best burger place in the Rhein-Main area, so naturally as burgers are my favourite food group I had to check it out. das! Burger is said not to be your everyday burger, but gourmet, which might justify the slightly higher prices. (more…)
