Current Nighttime Skincare Routine

My nighttime skincare routine just used to be cleansing off my makeup, applying moisturizer to my face and lips and off to bed I go. Now that I’m more into skincare and know about the ingredients and what my skin needs, my skincare routine has expanded a bit. I know, I’m still no pro, I don’t use toners and haven’t tried the glorified Alpha H Liquid Gold yet (which I’m desperate for), but this is what works for me at the moment, so maybe you’ll like some of the products as well!

I love to use the micelles water from Garnier to clean off any makeup thats on my face. It’s a great dupe for the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Water and a lot cheaper as well! Afterwards, I like to give my face a deep cleanse with the L’Oreal cleansing oil. I usually  use 1-2 pumps and massage it into my face, eyes and lips, then I wet my hands and emulsify the oil on my face. It turns into a lovely foam and cleans everything without stripping it out. It’s a great alternative if you’re on a budget or you just want to try out a new cleasing oil.

If I have a particular bad skin day, which luckily doesn’t happen too often for me, I love to apply the Aesop Parsley Seed Mask to give my skin a little rest. I absolutely adore the calming, fresh smell of this mask and it cleans out any imperfections I have on my face perfectly. If my spots are really persistent, I tend to use the Effaclar Duo solution from La Roche Posay. Just apply a tiny bit on your spot and it’s gone overnight. It’s so good even the bf uses it 😉

As a moisturizer, I tend to use the Bebe cream with avocado, it doesn’t break me out and it’s really sensitive on my skin. If my skin feels really dry and dehydrated, I first apply the Balea Beauty Effect Hyarulonic Acid Booster. I only use this before bed as it contains silicon which leans towards scraping off my makeup during the day. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occuring polysaccharide found in the human body, it cushions and lubricates our joints, nerves, hair, skin and eyes. It’s particularly important to skin appearance because about 50 percent of the body’s supply is located in the skin tissues, where the viscous, jelly-like substance helps keep it plump, soft and supple. Our ability to produce hyaluronic acid declines with age, which can lead to increased dryness, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. Therefore, it is important to supply your skin with hyaluronic acid from the outside. The Balea Beauty Effect Hyarulonic Acid Booster is a really cheap and great solution to help your skin through dry phases and to prevent wrinkles.

Afterwards, I love to use the Rival de Loop Age Performance Intensive Serum. It’s a Vitamin C based serum with silicones that helps your skin turn into smooth and soft goodness. It’s ingredients such as glycerol, hyaluronic acid, allantoin, sorbitol and urea are huge moisturizers and the antioxidant such as the green tea extracts keep your skin calm. It’s a bit sticky on the skin, so again, I would only recommend this at nighttime. ♥
