What is Love: January Beauty Favorites 2015

Lovely people of the internet,

welcome to my first ever beauty favorites. There are a lot of things I love and about which I want to tell you all about, but let’s just start what I’ve been particularly loving in January beauty-wise.

My skin has been loving the Hildegard Braukmann Magic Winter Body Cream, which is a random beauty favorite as I normally despise body creams. Yes, I do not moisturize regularly, or at all, sue me! I received it as a christmas gift and it was love at first smell! All ingredients are organic and herbal and it feels lovely and soothing on the skin. Unfortunately, this specific body cream was limited winter edition, so I’m not sure if it’s still in stock!

Another thing I’ve been needing in my life after christmas and lots of chocolate indulgence is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Corrective and Unclogging Anti-Imperfection Care. This product literally saved my skin so many times! If you feel the odd spot emerging, remove all your makeup – I love to use the bebe Young Care Makeup Wipes, put this baby on and it’s gone the next day, promise! If you have acne-prone skin, you can even put it on your entire face. However, as my skin is on the sensitive side, I tend to use it with caution!

My lips have been absolutely loving the Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub this season. I’ve never seen such quick results from a lip scrub before. I like to use this at night before bed, put some lip balm on and wake up to brilliantly soft lips.

I’ve been an Essie lover for such a long time now, that I seriously don’t own any other nail polishes at the moment. Bahama Mama has been my favorite in December and January because it just matches the wintery months extremely well.

I’m besotted with the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Gel-Cream Shadows lately. They’re all so beautiful and I feel the urge to call them all mine one day. For now, I’m glad to announce that I was able to welcome On and On Bronze, Permanent Taupe and Metallic Pomgranate to the family – the latter is probably my favorite so far. I’m still desperate for Creamy Beige, but it seems out of stock everywhere!

Before I put on my beloved Color Tattoos, I reach for the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in the shade Eden! This new addition to my makeup family has resolved all my oily-eyelid problems, I love it!

Lastly, for makeup, this favorite helped me keep my skin dewy, light, and winter-kissed : The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free! I wear the color “Blush”, which might be a teeny tiny bit too dark for me in winter months, but I just can’t afford a lighter version at the moment, sorry Laura Mercier! I just apply it with my beauty blender or even my fingertips for a more natural look, dust on a little of the Catrice All Matte Plus Powder and tada: I’m done!

What beauty products have been your favorites this month? ♥

  1. Thanks for the tip about La Roche-Posay – I think I may try that one as I have lots of break-outs at the moment and need to find something that really works! Thank you so much for liking my blog post – I am looking forward to reading more of yours 🙂

  2. Eyeliner pen I can create any beautiful look I want with just one step! Maybelliene 24/HR Tattoo eyeshadows. They’re fantastic for running late or an evening out!
Concealer, white powders for a natural effect. Occasionally I’ll use the Rimmel 2-1 corrector and coverage.

      1. Hot topic Eyeliner Pen, I know it sounds childish but it definitely is my favorite pen. The precision glides like a big time famous artist. As if they painted that on my upper and lower lids.

      1. My favorites are Bad to the Bronze (same as On and On Bronze) and the elusive Creamy Beige. I managed to snag one when it first came out, but I’ve never seen it again. 😦 Have you done any looks with the pomegranate one? I have it, but haven’t done heaps with it.
