The Bags Under My Eyes Are Designer: My Favorite Drugstore Concealer Duo

2015/01/img_6016.jpg Lovely people of the internet,

today I want to share my secret about my favorite drugstore concealer duo. I am blessed, or may I say cursed, with really bad dark circles under my eyes. My doctor says it’s because my skin is too thin and too fair #palegirlproblems So trust me, I tried A LOT of concealers and know what really works and what fades away after an hour and leaves you looking like a heroine chic model from the 90s.

To achieve a somewhat awake look, I first prep my skin with moisturizer and then apply the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer and Treatment (wow that’s a mouthful!). I really like that it comes with a little sponge on top, so you just twist it and the product is easy to apply, even on the go if you need a top up. Also you can remove the tiny sponge (just give it a little tug) and give it a little wash just once in a while to make everything more hygienic! I love it’s creamy but really covering consistency! If I have a lazy makeup day and can’t be bothered to put on the “proper face”, I solely apply this concealer where I need a bit of coverage on my face , brush on a bit of mascara and I’m done! After that I like to apply my foundation or tinted moisturizer of choice and put a layer of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer on top, just to give it this extra glow. I dab it under my eyes, on the top of my cheekbones, my cupid’s bow, on the bridge of my nose, everywhere where I want to highlight. It goes without saying that I use the lightest shade in both concealers. To set everything, I dust a bit of  powder on and I’m done! I haven’t tried any high-end concealers yet, well except for the Mac Prolong Wear –> didn’t like it at all, but I have a couple of them on my what-to-buy-next list, so stay tuned for more reviews… What’s your trick to cover your dark circles? Can you recommend any great concealers? ♥ Disclaimer: I am in no way a makeup artist, this is just what works for me and my skin type! 2015/01/img_6017.jpg 2015/01/img_6018.jpg

  1. I love your blog, your posts are amazing! I just followed you, it would be great if we can support each other 🙂 I am so glad I got to discover you ❤

  2. I have crazy bags underneath my eyes too and have been using the Tarte Maracuja Creasless Concealer with a sweepp of the Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder on top. It works well for me, but I appreciate these drugstore suggestions and have heard many great things about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer and Treatment from others. I will have to give it a try next. I need to get out of my Ulta/Sephora addiction. It’s killing my bank account!

    1. You should def buy it, but don’t get confused with the shades, there is a 001 light and 003 fair (if you need a pale one) and fair is def the lighter shade of the two! 🙂

      1. The light shade works too if you really blend it in and use it under foundation. The coverage is great, so you should def hunt a fair one down!

  3. Actually now I try to buy more certified cosmetics, with Ecocert f. e. Although I have found cosmetics from brands like Maybelline checking at the search engines of good guide or Skin Deep. Unfortunately my foundation from Max Factor didn’t have good ingredients.

Thank you for liking my post btw! So nice to see you visiting my blog. Let me know what you think.

    1. Its really great! You should def give it a try! Ive never tried the NARS one, because its ever so expensive, but i really want to give it a go! Thanks for the lovely comment Carys 🙂 ❤
