today I want to tell you about my recent discovery on my way to eat healthier. I’ve never been a huge fan of fish, I do like my occasional sushi (either fried Inside Out ones or really simple Makis), but otherwise I’m not much of a fish-lover. However, as I wanted to change my diet a bit to the healthier side, I grabbed the salmon at the counter and mixed it with stuff I still had at home. Well, I gotta say that it was quiet a tasty affair.
as I already told you, I am desperately planning on finishing my university degree in the next couple of months. Actually, I just handed in my thesis registration, she says totally shocked about that she is ACTUALLY finishing uni soon… (more…)
recently I rediscovered my love for baking, obviously I am in no way a professional baker, but I’d like to say that I’m quite good at it. Be it Carrot Cake, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Christmas Cookies, I like to try everything in different types and variations.
Today, you’ve got the pleasure to meet my dairy-free chocolate BROOKIES! (more…)
after finishing secondary school in September 2006 I flew to Australia for 9 month. What was meant to be an au-pair stay, turned into the adventure of a lifetime! I was 20 at the time and needed to find my place in the world, needed to figure out what I wanted to do, if I wanted to study, and if so what. Australia was my safe place, my escape from reality. Not knowing what to expect, I booked my ticket impulsively and left for Sydney a week after, by myself. The furthest I’ve gone by the time was to Spain, with my grandparents and to Croatia with friends for 2 weeks. Luckily, on my second day, I met what is to this day my best friend. I was meant to stay in Sydney and work for at least 5 month, but when she asked me if I’d wanted to travel to Melbourne with her, YES seemed to be the perfect answer. So I ditched my plans for money, accommodation, safety and left for the unknown. Everything was a haze of parties, fun, meeting great people, beautiful locations, enjoying ourselves. (more…)
today I want to share my secret about my favorite drugstore concealer duo. I am blessed, or may I say cursed, with really bad dark circles under my eyes. My doctor says it’s because my skin is too thin and too fair #palegirlproblems So trust me, I tried A LOT of concealers and know what really works and what fades away after an hour and leaves you looking like a heroine chic model from the 90s. (more…)
to be honest, I am not much of a New Year’s resolutions girl, never have been. If I hear someone say “new year, new me” again, I will leave planet earth. BUT I thought I give in once and try to find some goals for this year, as there’re going to be some major changes in my life – so why not?!
last week I had the pleasure to eat at one of Wiesbaden’s two new burger venues. das! Burger is said to be THE best burger place in the Rhein-Main area, so naturally as burgers are my favourite food group I had to check it out. das! Burger is said not to be your everyday burger, but gourmet, which might justify the slightly higher prices. (more…)
as of last year, I told myself that I needed to buck up my ideas and start a blog. So here you go. I have finally had the gut to start it… Dear to Heart reflects everything which is (obviously) a matter to the heart for me. Be it traveling, beauty, lifestyle, diy’s, interior design, inspiration, style, anything that tickles my fancy! You should expect to see new posts at least once a week, depending on my schedule and eagerness maybe more! I will try my best to link everything, if I can still find it, if not, I make sure to tell you where I got it from. All opinions on this blog are my own and even if something might be sponsored in the future, I will still be as honest and critical as usual!
If you have any suggestions or critique, please let me know and I make sure to get back to you and improve!
